We have acted on the establishment of the first covered bond programmes in a number of jurisdictions and in several instances, worked with the issuers and regulators to develop effective covered bond legislation. We have also been at the forefront of the development of the Rule 144A market for European issuers advising on a number of trail blazing transactions. We advise on covered bond programmes in numerous jurisdictions worldwide
In the UK, we were at the heart of the legal side of an industry-wide response to the proposals issued by HM Treasury and the FSA (as was) in respect of a UK regulated covered bond product which in turn led to the implementation of the Regulated Covered Bonds Regulations 2008. We continue to advise on programme establishments, updates, drawdowns and other activities relating to UK regulated covered bond programmes.
